Jerusalem is leading among popular touristic destinations in regards to growth of inbound arrivals, Bloomberg reports with the reference to Euromonitor International.

Number of touristic trips around the world most likely grew by 5% in 2018 to 1,4 billion. Arrival growth for Jerusalem was 38%, while total number of tourists visiting the city grew to 4,8 million. According to the report, holy city wins due to relative stability and good marketing.

As a whole number of trips to top 100 cities increased by 7,5%. Asia is still popular destination: 41 cities in top 100 are in Asian region.

Other regions, including Middle East and Arica, are winning less. Jerba Tunisia and Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt fell out of rating due to threat of terrorist attack.

Japan and India keep attracting growing number of tourists. Such cities as Osaka and Chiba showed average annual growth 43% and 35% respectively from 2012 to 2017. Delhi and Mumbai in average attracted 20% more tourists every year.

As of Europe, then Porto became a leader according to the 2018 World Travel Awards. Growth of inbound arrivals to this city in 2018 was 7%. It gained 42 positions in rating since 2012.

Ten most popular tourist destinations include Hong Kong with 29,8 million visitors in 2018, Bangkok, London, Singapore, Macau, Paris, Dubai, New York, Kuala Lumpur, Shenzhen.
