Wealth of high-net-worth individuals in China grew by 144% from 2010 to 2017 and reached $6,5 trillion. Equivalent growth in Japan during this period was 87%.
Recently millionaires from India joined wealthy people of Asia. Wealth of high-net-worth people grew by 22% in 2017 there, and this is the highest pace in the region during this period. Second growth pace was demonstrated by South Korea (18%), then by Hong Kong (16,3%), Thailand, Taiwan and Singapore.
Such tendency will stay there. Wealth of rich people in Asia doubled in the period from 2010 to 2017 to $21,6 trillion and it will double again be 2025.
Last year high-net-worth individuals in Asia represented 41,4% of all new rich in the world.
People having more than $1 million of investable assets are considered to be high-net-worth individuals.
