The gap between IT-sectors in China and the US today is the largest in almost two decades, Bloomberg reports.

Asian Pacific Information Technology MSCI Index fell this year by 11%. Its version in S&P 500 grew by 17%.

Internet giant Tencent, the largest company in Asian gauge, lost more than $100 billion of value since January amid concerns about stability of earnings from perspective game business. Samsung Electronics Co lost $40 billion due to weakening memory chip demand. Even Alibaba Group Holdings Ltd., listed in the US but not included into Information Technology Index of S&P 500, fell more than 6% this year.

Analytics of Morgan Stanley recommended investors to lower exposure to IT stocks in short term amid trade risks and limited earnings growth.

It shall be noted that in last two decades Asian and American indexes went in the same direction, except for 2015 and 2011.
