US and China imposed new tariffs on goods from both countries, Bloomberg reports. It happened in the middle of negotiations aimed to ease growing trade tension.

Taxes will be applied to import valued $16 billion from each country. Besides, China filed a complaint to WTO in regards to American tariffs.

US introduced additional 25% tariffs to Chinese products from motorcycles to steam turbines and trains. China imposed similiar size duties to coal, medicine instuments, cars and buses.

Meanwhile, the talks between two countries will continue today.

Moody’s Investors Service assumes that relations between US and China will get worse, and impact on global economic growth will be felt next year.

Initial list of Chinese goods prepared by the US in May was aimed to reduce trade deficit with China by $200 billion. Deficit last year was $375 billion.

US Administration notes that it is trying to avoid threat to consumer products and targets positions that play a key role in China's future development. However, many companies are already complaining about unfair imposition of tariffs on their products imported from China.
