Sales of cars under Volkswagen brand fell in October by 15,2%, while Audi and Porsche showed declines by 53% and 62% respectively.
Sales of VW and Audi fell due to EU customers’ rejection of diesel engines, while German brands have not succeeded so far in bringing their models in accordance with new Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle standards (WLTP). Demand in October was also lower because producers flooded the market with new cars before standards are introduced on September’1st.
Sales of BMW and Mercedes-Benz grew by 12,4% and 7,9%.
