During the week till September 9, values of 774 houses in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens had been reduced. This is the highest number for seven-week period since 2006. Previouse weekly record was set in March of 2009 during global economic crisis, when prices of 713 properties were cut.
Sellers listed their property some time ago started adjusting their expectations and prices due to new wave of listing, which is usual for this period of year. Number of new listings in Manhattan grew by 662 during first week of September, and this is third highest weekly number according to data from website StreetEasy.
According to experts, sellers have to reduce their ambitions and correct prices to match them with the real demand.
