Hong Kong passed New York in number of ultra-rich citizens
New York gave the first place to Hong Kong in regard to number of ultra-rich people living in the city, Bloomberg reports. Now Hong Kong takes first place as the city with the largest number of citizens with wealth higher than $30 million.

New York gave the first place to Hong Kong in regard to number of ultra-rich people living in the city, Bloomberg reports.
Now Hong Kong takes first place as the city with the largest number of citizens with wealth higher than $30 million. It shall be noted that growth last year was 31% to 10000 people. This number is 9000 people for New York. Tokyo took third place, while Paris passed London suffering from Brexit.
According to Wealth-X, in general, number of ultra-rich people in the world grew by 13% and was about 256000 people with $31,5 trillion wealth. Asia shows the largest gain. Shares of this region grew from 18% decade ago to above quarter.
About 35000 of ultra-rich people are women.
Still, ultra rich hold 35% of their wealth in liquid assets. About 32% is presented in private holdings and 26% in public holdings. Alternative investments, such as real estate, art and yachts, account for 6,6%.
