China announced that it is ready to increase import volumes from the US, if trading partner meets half-way, Bloomberg reports.
Last week two countries conducted serious negotiations in regards to agricultural and energy products. China confirmed that it does not want to escalate trade dispute with the US and already established a strategy to increase import.
The announcement was made after news that China suggested to increase purchase of American goods by $25 billion this year was issued. It happened just before deadline on import tariffs that will be imposed to Chinese import. The deadline is set at the middle of June.
At the same time, China is ready to drop all promises, if the US applies tariffs anyway. Proposed 25% tariffs to $50 billion of Chinese import, if introduced on June 15, will be the first real step against largest trading country in the world.
