Annual conference of US soy exporters finished on Wednesday without any significant sales to Chinese buyers, unlike previous meetings where billions-contracts were made, Reuters reports.

Trade dispute between the US and China has its consequences in form of restriction of bilateral trade of soy beans, and US farmers predict demand reduction amid record harvest.

Of course, they made deals with other countries, including Mexico, however, the volumes are smaller than in previous deals with China.

Last year the key importer bought $12 billion soy beans from the US. It is 60% of all US export. However, China is almost out of the game after Beijing imposed 25% duties on US shipments.

It is forecasted that import volumes from all sources will fall to 86 million from 96 million. China plans to take some part of soy from government stocks as well as reduce consumption of soy milk and use other crops, including sunflower seeds and rapeseed.

So, if the trade conflict is not solved in the nearest future, global market for soy will be totally reshaped.

US soy beans price fell 18% during last three months, and China started buying almost all its soy from Brazil.
