Second largest economy of euro area suffered from bad weather in the beginning of this year along with others. However, troubles for France were not over when it became warmer. Rail workers started strikes against Macron's new reforms. Besides, there is also decline in consumer spending.
It is expected that economy growth will be 0,4% in the second quarter.
Economists forecast that French economy growth will speed up in the second half of this year and will be 0,5% during each of next two quarters. European Commission estimates yearly growth at 1,7%, which is lower than in 2017, but higher than average in last five years.
