Swedish krona will not catch up with Norwegian krone

Swedish krona and Norwegian krone only sound similar, in other aspects these two currencies behave very differently, Bloomberg reports. Swedish krona shows the worst results relative to euro in G-10 peers group, while Norwegian krone is in leaders appreciating 4%.

Swedish krona and Norwegian krone only sound similar, in other aspects these two currencies behave very differently, Bloomberg reports.

Swedish krona shows the worst results relative to euro in G-10 peers group, while Norwegian krone is in leaders appreciating 4%. Analytics forecast that difference between two currencies will not get smaller. Swedish krona will stay more vulnerable to global trade war threat.

Central bank of Sweden Riksbank acts more synchronized with European Central Bank, which is not going to raise interest rates until the second half of 2019. Norges Bank is more focused on local factors and is ready to rate hikes.

Norwegian krone reached 9,3867 level on Tuesday, the highest in more than eight months. Inflation perspective support plans of Norway’s central bank in regards to raising interest rates. Swedish krone lost more than 4% relative to euro this year, however, got a boost last week after central bank’s officials signaled about possible end of negative rates era.

Norway’s currency strengthened relative to Swedish krone by more than 9% this year. On Wednesday ratio was 1,0885. Analytics forecast further growth of this coefficient.
